Since being back from basic training, eating healthy is really important to me. I’m constantly preparing meals that I know benefit me. For lunch I love to make a fresh salad and pair it with a nice fruit smoothie since it’s summer time. Since I do like to make meals with fresh produce I use my Rubbermaid® FreshWorks™ containers to store my lettuce and berries in. The patented FreshVent™ Technology keeps produce fresher longer.

Blackberry Smoothie
For my smoothie recipe you need these list of ingredients:
- Blackberries
- Milk (regular of almond)
- Ice
- Organic Honey
Adding Blackberries
I always add my fruit first. I tossed in a small handful of blackberries, roughly six.
Adding Milk
My next step is to add the milk. I chose to use coconut almond milk but you are more than welcome to use regular milk instead. It’s based on preference.
Add Ice and Honey Then Blend
I added a cup of ice to mine because I like my smoothies to be a little thicker. I added organic honey to my smoothie to add a sweetener while keeping it healthier than adding sugar.
Salad Time
For my salad I like to use fresh lettuce, which the FreshVent™ technology allows additional O2 in, creating the optimal environment to maintain fresh produce. Find more Rubbermaid® FreshWorks™ inspiration and learn about how the product works here.
My favorite things to add to my salad are tomatoes and mushrooms. I’m the only one in my family who likes mushrooms so it’s nice when I’m about to add them into my salad.
